Project STRATA is a landmark £14.1 million initiative led by Honeywell, in partnership with the UK Government (ATI), BeyondMath, and a world-class consortium including 3T Additive Manufacturing and the University of Oxford. The goal is clear: to redefine how critical aerospace components—specifically Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Cabin Pressure Control Systems (CPCS)—are designed and manufactured for the next generation of sustainable aircraft.

In this project, BeyondMath serves as the computational heart of design optimization. Traditional CFD solvers are too slow to explore the organic, complex geometries enabled by 3D metal printing. Our foundational AI model allows the consortium to simulate thousands of iterations of internal fluid paths and heat exchanger fins in seconds. This ensures that every gram of material is mathematically justified, resulting in components that are lighter, more efficient, and capable of extreme thermal performance that was previously unachievable.

The impact of this partnership extends to Net-Zero Aviation goals. By optimizing for fluid efficiency and weight reduction, Project STRATA aims to significantly lower aircraft fuel consumption and Scope 3 emissions. BeyondMath’s ability to predict multi-physics interactions—combining thermal dynamics with fluid flow at the micro-scale—enables the creation of "Smart Digital Twins" that validate the lifecycle carbon impact of a part before it is ever printed.

Finally, Project STRATA is about Supply Chain Resilience. By combining BeyondMath’s rapid physics simulations with qualified additive manufacturing, Honeywell can accelerate the time-to-market for certified aerospace parts. This reduces the reliance on complex global casting and forging supply chains, allowing for a "digital-first" manufacturing approach that keeps the UK at the forefront of aerospace innovation and ensures flyer safety and comfort through superior engineering.
